Mother Earth and Her Children

I saw these two books in the Living Craft magazine that I picked up not too long ago. I ordered them through Amazon and they just finally came! The Mother Earth and Her Children book is amazing! It's all quilted. The pictures scanned in do not do it justice. I'm sure that the pictures in the book don't even do it justice. All the applique on all the little itty bitty leaves and the embroidery on the little children is just phenomenal. It's one of those books that you pick up and it inspires you do create things. Which is why I also picked up the Making Flower Children book. I have visions of sitting down with my daughter and making little flower children for her to play with in her Fairie house. That's what tonight is all about, right? Setting lofty goals and what-not. I'm excited for all the possibilities that this new year is bringing. Happy New Year to you!

We are totally reading the same things! Too bad we can't just ooh and ahhhh over these pictures with a cup of tea! Can you believe the detail? And such sweet rhymes.

Gorgeous! I think you'll enjoy Sally Mavor's stuff, too, if you aren't already familar -- beautiful children's books with all hand-sewn "illustrations" and her Felt Wee Folk book for making them yourself. Lofty goals? Why not?!?
