Magic Loop

What you are looking at here is the beginnings of my first sock. I've never made one and so far I'm pleased with how it's coming along. I'm learning how to do it using the Magic loop method. There are no DPs involved, just one set of Circs. And it's even going fairly quickly. I have grand ideas of becoming really great at these and knitting 24 mini wool felted ones to use as an advent calendar for next year. Christmas is only 3 days away, I am so excited!! I am happy to report I was also able to go China Free except for 3 or 4 things. It can be done! I had to give in on a couple of Power Ranger things and a snow shovel. I also love how this year my children still full on believe in Santa and all that is magical about Christmas. I know that with each year that comes we are closer to losing that. Anyhow, it's off to start the day. There is much to do!

Awesome! Will you be showing us the results? :)

By the way, you talked me into learning to knit someday. But I want to start when I have more time to obsess about it, like in the summer.

Dean is 9.5 and still believes, so the magic just may last longer than you think! You sound JUST like me -- right in the midst of it all, planning next year's projects and delights. Hope yours was very merry and a happy new year to you, too!

Oh you are daring with the sock. I can't wait to see how it turns out. We are just entering the stage of fear our little guy will figure it out. It truly is so magical.
