I can't believe that I've finally hit 100!!It took long enough. I think that to celebrate I will have a giveaway. I'll put together a fantastic package of things that will make you happy, I promise! Included will be this Good Things Martha issue that has bunches of ideas for kids parties in it. I'll throw in some other goodies like wooden spools, maybe some fuzzy yarn, or something. I'll have to look through the craft stash. Leave a comment and I'll throw your name into a hat for the drawing on Friday. Isn't it funny how part of me is worried about leaving this post? What if really no one is reading this or leaves a comment. I'll feel like such a nerd!

I'm it.....
My pal Ariane just tagged me. I've never done one of these, so I thought hey why not?
10 years ago:
I was 19 at the college of Southern Idaho getting into waaaay too much trouble. That's a dark chapter that we could do without.
5 things on my to do list today:
Only 5? Am I the only one with a full page of things to do every day? 1. Go to Crate and Barrel to look for a mini ice cream scoop, 2. Go to Anthropologie for new oven mitt, 3. Hang new blue glass handles on cupboards in the kitchen, 4. Attend Daughters second grade show, 5. laundry and vacuum
3 bad habits:
extremely pessimistic
yell too much
clenching my teeth
5 places I've lived:
Heaven, mothers womb, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado
5 jobs I've had:
pharmacy cashier
video store clerk
law office runner
studio camera operator
lunch lady
3 things people don't know about me:
After my last c-section my incision opened up on one side
I will always use store bought cake mix over a cake made from scratch because they are more moist. Although everything else I make needs to be made from scratch
My dream job would be to be an anthropologist and travel the world studying cultures of other people
By the way, the picture above has nothing to do with anything. It's a book I picked up while at Crate and Barrel this morning. I'm going to try the cous cous or chai muffins in the morning.

Better than Meth......Fancy Tiger
This morning a friend of mine called me up and told me about this little craft store downtown. I didn't really think anything of it until I looked it up online. Then suddenly I felt all shaky and sweaty. It was that same "needing a fix" feeling that I get with certain craft magazines. I couldn't wait a second longer, I had to go check it out. I threw the boys in the van and drove the 30 min downtown. I have to tell you, this place absolutely lived up to my expectations. Can you see the list of classes they have?! Needlefelting, Aprons, bookbinding, knitting, embroidered tea towels, and on and on. They also have open craft night, open sewing stitch night and craft parties. A ton of Amy Butler fabric, sheets of wool felt, vintage buttons, cute vintage Pyrex cups filled with things, sublime stitching patterns, amazing yarns, so many different kinds of tools and books, I was like a kid in a candy store. Unfortunately the boys did not have the same elated feelings I did, so we had to leave. I am planning on going back Saturday and checking out the Amy Butler trunk show. I am dying that there is actually this kind of store here and I know where it is!

Paper quilling
Today I was walking around Michaels trying to figure out something to do for Brownies tomorrow. I stopped at the Klutz books, because they are fabulous and saw they have a new book called Paper Twirling. Here is my first ever attempt at quilling paper. I was so excited how this turned out that I couldn't even wait for the glue to dry before I scanned it. I'm going to have the girls make flamingos and flowers if we have time. It would also be fun to have them make fancy little frames to put them in, but there's just never enough time!

Happy Easter
After everyone went to bed tonight I threw in the new Hairspray movie and whipped up this happy Spring gnome. I'll post the link for where I found the pattern once I find it in the History.
I am so disappointed in the movie! It was one of my faves when I was younger. This one didn't have the familiar songs or scenes that I was so use to. I'm going to have to go get the original now from the library just so I can have the sing along that I was hoping for! Happy Easter by the way, we had a great day where Daddy actually go to be here for it. I hope it was wonderful for all of you as well.

Another one
What, 2 Posts in one day?! Yes, I had so much fun doing the bunnies earlier that I whipped this one out to send to my sister in the mail. She needs a little magic right now. I had someone ask how I do these. I saw Martha make one at Valentines and got obsessed. I went out and bought the Martha craft knife at Michaels.I have to say that little tool makes all the difference in the world! I get my patterns by doing searches for free papercutting patterns on Google, or using the silhouette designs that come for free in the Dover Sampler. I've cut things out of typing paper, cardstock, and tissue paper. I don't know which I really like the best. There is still tons I need to learn about this craft, but I sure am enjoying the things that I'm doing now!

Has it really been 2 weeks?!
I can't believe how long it's been since my last post! I am still here, I may have a fried brain and on the verge of a complete breakdown, but I am still around! Life has not allowed any time for crafting right now, but I do have some fun things to share.... My baby is now 1! I'm sad by this. I feel like I didn't enjoy all his babyness while I could. However, he's a blast! I love watching him sword fight and play chase. I love the "drunk" looking walk and the interaction. I just can't believe how quickly time is going by with him!
The 2nd issue of Living Craft just came out. Can I tell you again how much I love this magazine? Here's a snippett of what you'll find in this one:
Super cute and easy knitted bunnies. They're just made out of a rectangle. I have these on the list of things to try.
Sweet little fairy dolls, also knitted and very tiny.
And a needle felted chime ball. All sooo cute! Also in this issue are felted butterfly wings, a story with needlefelted characters to go with it and spotlights on organic cotton farmers.
I've been waiting for this issue of Home Companion. Heather Bailey treats us to the cutest Mother Daughter Chic luncheon. Included are:
Adorable feed cones displayed in a cupcake holder
My favorite chic placecards
And adorable bookbags with ruffles as party favors. Can you ever have too many ruffles? Plus check out all these colors! I love blue and green together. It's so Springy and cheerful, I can't wait for lazy summer days, waking up to open windows and birds chirping. Letting the stale air out and the fresh air in. Playing at the park..... I'm off to look for a picnic basket on ebay. Hopefully more posts this week!
