round and round

This is the picture of a major accomplishment. This is a picture that is proof I can now knit on circular needles. I've always been so intimidated by them, but I now embrace them and love them. They are my new friends. I could not believe how fast this hat went. And all the St stitches without having to knit a row and then purl a row. This was really quite a blissful experience. I see many more bigger knitting projects in the future. Now to get over the fear of socks....

Rules

Here is our new reminder of our family rules. I would give credit to where I found the inspiration for it, but I can't remember

who it was. Sorry! Anyhow, super easy to make. Canvas, cardstock, modge podge and a cricut cutter. Now we have something pretty to remind us of the things we need to be doing. It's a good thing.

Halloween snow

For 3 days before Halloween we had nothing but heavy snow. When it had all stopped we ended up with 28 inches. Here it is at the peak of all the snow.
Two days later it all melted away for us to go trick or treating. That's Colorado for you.

Pan de Los Muertos

Yesterday we celebrated Dia de Los Muertos. It is one of my favorite holidays that is celebrated in our world. I love the joy that is celebrated in remembering those who have passed on. We made Pan de los Muertos, chicken enchiladas, pinto beans, Mexican hot chocolate and little bones made out of pretzels and marshmallows dipped in white chocolate. We talked about memories of people we love who have died, played bingo and enjoyed taking part in another culture.
